Chambers Global – Gaming and Gambling awards for GamingLaw.eu in 2018
The founders of GamingLaw.eu are once again awarded by Chambers Global for 2018. Additionally Santiago was awarded as Star Individual.
Here are the Chambers Global commentaries that led to this awards again:
Managing partner Santiago Asensi Gisbert of Asensi Abogados is a globally recognised expert in gaming law. Sources point out that he “played a big role for remote licensing in Spain.” One impressed commentator praised him as being “by a huge margin the best lawyer in this field in Spain.” He represents major operators in Spain and is currently developing his practice in South America, particularly Colombia.
Sources commend how Justin Franssen of Kalff Katz & Franssen Attorneys at Law was “transformational in terms of the Dutch market, pushing back the regulators and keeping the market alive.” He leads the firm’s gaming practice, and another source commented that “he is embedded in the industry, a real guru,” and “he is always clear, personable and knowledgeable about the Dutch regulatory regime.” He is also widely respected by clients: “He is top of the list. If something needs to be done in the Netherlands, I’m calling him.” His practice covers a range of non-contentious and contentious mandates.
Sources view founding partner and leader of Hambach & Hambach Law Firm’s gaming practice Wulf Hambach as “someone who, over the years, has accumulated strong experience and an ability to navigate the choppy waters of the German market.” One impressed interviewee touted him as “absolutely unquestionably the number one German gaming lawyer.”
Quirino Mancini of Tonucci & Partners is singled out by interviewees as “one of the principal advisers in Italy.” He has almost two decades of experience working in the field and is regularly involved in licensing rounds including online gaming licences. He is based in Rome and is the firm’s global head of gaming and gambling.
