German states are poised to approve a draft gambling treaty this month that will secure online sports-betting licensing, a treaty to which the gambling-friendly state of Schleswig-Holstein may get an opt-out to let it permit online casino.
An amendment to the German state treaty on gambling would resolve the stalemate on sports-betting licensing by extending a so-called experimental phase for sports betting from this June 30 to June 30, 2021, according to a statement by the cabinet of Lower Saxony state government.
